Pilates Mat Teacher Training

Our 100-hour Mat Pilates Teacher Training provides students with a comprehensive foundation in classical Pilates, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to safely and confidently lead mat classes. The curriculum covers the foundations of Pilates, anatomy, classical exercise instruction, hands-on teaching techniques, injury modifications, and effective verbal and sensory cueing.

Training also includes observation and student teaching opportunities to ensure practical experience and confidence in guiding others. Transform your practice—and your teaching—through Opal Wellness Studio’s 550-hour Teacher Training Program, rooted in the classical Pilates method created by Joseph Pilates. This immersive program is designed to prepare instructors to teach all bodies with confidence, skill, and compassion.

Over the course of the training, you’ll gain deep expertise in anatomy, injury modification, and working with special populations, while mastering the art of verbal and sensory cueing. Extensive hands-on experience with classical Pilates apparatus, including tower, reformer, mat, and props, ensures you graduate fully equipped to teach in diverse settings and make a meaningful impact on your students’ wellness journeys.

Join a community of dedicated practitioners and take your Pilates teaching to the next level—develop your skills, expand your knowledge, and become a confident, transformative instructor. The mat teacher training is a prerequisite for our 550-hour Comprehensive Teacher Training. Click here to begin your new career this fall!

Our 300-hour Bridge Training Program is designed for certified contemporary Pilates instructors who want to deepen their expertise in classical Pilates. This immersive training bridges contemporary techniques with classical principles, covering anatomy, injury modification, cueing, and hands-on apparatus work. Gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to expand your teaching and offer a more comprehensive Pilates experience to all bodies.

Upon completion of the training, students will be eligible to sit for the National Pilates Certification Program (NPCP) exam.
